MIND - MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID COURSES AND IMPLEMENTATION FOR COMPANIES

Our main goal is to raise the awareness of mental health within the UK workplaces with courses that meet national qualifications regulated by Ofqual. These are listed on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SCQF). 

What is Mental Health First Aid in the workplace?

Mental Health First Aid courses teach employers, managers, and staff the symptoms and signs of common mental health issues. With Mental Health First Aid training, employers and their trained staff can provide non-judgmental support and guidance for anyone with a mental health condition who needs to seek professional support to recover.

Why Now?

According to research from the Centre for Mental Health, about 1 in 4 people living in the UK experience a mental illness every year, which adds up to a loss of time and productivity for businesses. For instance, 15.8 million work days were lost in the UK in 2016 due to mental illness. 

Stress, anxiety, and depression are the largest causes of sickness-related absences in the UK workforce. In addition to losing productivity, UK businesses lose £35 billion every year because of mental illness—£10.6 billion is lost to sickness absence, £21.2 billion is lost in reduced productivity, and £3.1 billion is lost in turnover when people vacate their positions because of mental illness.
